Saudi to levy fees on soft drinks, energy drinks
Riyadh: The Ministry of Health announced its proposed fee for soft drinks and energy drinks in Saudi Arabia.
Assistant Undersecretary for Primary Healthcare Dr. Hesham Al-Khashan announced the planned levies.
He pointed out that the ministry will soon issue a new law on public health in fast food sector to reduce negative repercussions on consumers.
He added that 100 medical centres will be set up across Saudi Arabia to support primary healthcare facilities.
