Teacher burns KG students with lighter
Riyadh : The Ministry of Education has ordered an immediate investigation into reports of abuse of children by a teacher at an international school in Al-Mansoura district in Riyadh.
The teacher is accused of burning pupils with a lighter and leaving burn marks on their bodies. According to sources quoted in the local media, the abused children were about four years old and all were in kindergarten.
The parents of one child called the police and requested action against the teacher.
A medical report from Al-Eman Hospital in Riyadh confirmed that the children had been burned by a lighter.
Officials said the school where the abuse occurred is known, and the principal has been contacted for details of the incidents.
An emergency committee from the Private Education Section at the ministry has been formed and investigations are in progress. An official statement will be issued once investigations have been completed.
