Avail BCCI’s legal services, CEO Mahmood tells members

Manama : Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) CEO Nabeel Al Mahmood urged the members of the chamber to benefit from the array of legal services offered by the Department of Legal Affairs and Arbitration of the BCCI. These include arbitration, dispute resolution and legal consultation.

Al Mahmood also stressed on the growing significance of amicable means of commercial dispute resolution to save time and cost.

He reviewed the number of cases processed by the Department of Legal Affairs and Arbitration since the beginning of 2016, which amounted to four cases with financial claims of over BD98,000.

The BCCI chief added that the department, since the beginning of year, has received 51 correspondences from its members on issues with various Ministries and authorities.

“It succeeded in addressing the members’ concerns and resolving their problems by communicating and coordinating with the relevant bodies,” he said.

It is worth mentioning that some of the services offered are subject to competitive charges. But other services are free of charge according to Ministerial order No. (72) for 2013 on determining the amounts due for services performed by the chamber compared to fees in the Gulf Chambers and other bodies of dispute in the Kingdom.
