Barbershops raise price upto 150% in Eid

Jeddah : Men’s hair salons witnessed a large turnout of citizens, reaching 80 percent, before Eid Al-Fitr, and is expected to reach 120 percent during the Eid, while hairstylists’ prices rose by 150 percent during the last three days of Ramadan, especially the night before Eid.

Workers in hair salons confirmed that some of its owners have begun preparations to meet the large volume of customer calls.

In some shops, managers will be adding tools including a custom-made chair for shaving, in addition to employing a number of employees working 24 hours a day to cover the huge crowding, organizing roles by distributing numbers.

They added that some of the saloons began diversifying the services provided to customers in order to attract more customers and increase the saloon’s income during this period, which is a seasonal time for those saloons.

Barber Walid Ayedi agreed that the large turnout of citizens exceeded 80 percent before Eid Al-Fitr.

He said that the salon owners took several steps, among them increasing the number of workers, increasing the number of chairs, in addition to working 24 hours a day to cover the huge crowds of customers, adding that most of the barber shops have shown their price list and distributed roles by distributing numbers.

Barber Mohammed Abdul Hamid explained that this week is the biggest season for barbers.
