India to reissue passports lost in plane
New Delhi : The Consulate General of India, Dubai has issued a statement assuring that the passports of the Indian passengers affected during Emirates accident will be replaced immediately.
Emirates aircraft, EK521, flying from Thiruvananthapuram, India, to Dubai made an emergency landing at Dubai International Airport on Wednesday carrying 282 passengers of which 226 are Indian passport holders.
The Consulate team consisting of the deputy consul in Dubai and two protocol officers rushed to the airport after the incident met the airport authorities and also the passengers.
Passengers who had lost their passports in the incident would be issued replacements quickly.
The passengers need to contact the Consulate for any facilitation and fresh passports.
The Consulate thanked Emirates and airport officials for the assistance provided to passengers.
