Kuwait denies visa ban on certain nationalities reports
Kuwait City : Kuwait has denied media reports that it planned to stop issuing entry visas to citizens of specific countries, affirming that the issuance of visas was a "sovereignty matter."
The foreign ministry "categorically denies these claims and affirms that the nationalities mentioned in the reports have large communities in Kuwait and enjoy full rights," Sami Al- Hamad, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs, said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency.
Al Hamad added that citizens of the countries mentioned by the social media visited Kuwait regularly through direct commercial flights and that businesspeople from Kuwait and from these states have commercial relations, he said.
"The State of Kuwait believes that granting visas is a sovereign matter and is not linked to terrorism, violence, nationality or faith," he said.
