Bahrain PM calls for stronger GCC-African cooperation

Bangkok : His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday called for developing stronger bilateral relations between nations in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Africa. 

HRH the Premier was holding a discussion with King Letsie III of Lesotho at his residence. 

There is a need to adopt more “diversified programmes to make maximum use of the opportunities available”, HRH the Premier told Letsie III while reviewing the progress of GCC-African relations in various fields.

The Prime Minister affirmed Bahrain’s keenness on enhancing cooperation with African countries through strengthening economic and investment partnerships. 

In this regard, the Premier stressed the importance of African countries in the global economy, thanks to their huge natural resources. 

“There are prospects for stronger GCC-African cooperation in the future, given the two sides share desire to bolster bilateral ties in various fields,” HRH the Premier said. 

The Prime Minister conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to HM King Letsie III, as well as his wishes for further progress to friendly Lesotho. 

HM King Letsie III expressed delight in the steadily-growing GCC-African relations, lauding the progress boom witnessed by Bahrain in various fields, under its leadership.

He wished Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity.
