Celebrating Republic Day of India

The Republic Day of India is celebrated every year on January 26 to honour the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950.

The celebration is held in grandeur in national capital’s India Gate. This year marks the 69th Republic Day of India and like every year, the highlight of the day is the parade that takes place at the India Gate.

This year, the Republic Day celebrations will have 10 heads from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, and Brunei - as chief guests.

The 69th Republic Day parade will see participants not only from the Indian Army, Air Force, Navy but it will also showcase over 700 students across the guest countries performing at the event.

 On the occasion of the  Republic Day, the Indian Embassy in Bahrain will be organizing a Flag hoisting ceremony on Friday, the 26th January at 07.30 am at the Embassy premises [Building No. 1090, Road 2819, Block 426, Seef. The Flag hoisting ceremony will include a reading of the message of the President of India followed by a short cultural programme highlighting the colourful and vibrant folk dances of India. All Indian nationals, including families in the Kingdom of Bahrain, are invited to attend the event and reach the venue by 07.15 a.m.

The Republic Day of India will be celebrated at the Indian School Bahrain Isa Town campus today from 9 am to 10.30am. The programme includes flag hoisting, anthem by the school band, patriotic songs, speech, and medal distribution for bandsmen and sportsmen.
