Undersecretary meets Vice Premier of Georgia

Tbilisi : The Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Georgia, Mikheil Janilidze, received the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa at the Georgian Foreign Ministry in the capital Tbilisi.

Mikheil Janilidze welcomed the Undersecretary saying the visit will promote bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Janilidze pointed out the consensus between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Georgia on promoting international cooperation and development, supporting efforts to spread peace and stability, and confronting terrorist groups and their sources of funding. 

Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa conveyed the greetings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, to Janilidze, expressing his happiness that the meeting coincided with the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs outlined the principles of Bahrain’s foreign policy and its responsible and consistent positions on regional and international issues as well as its contributions to international peace and security.

He also referred to the comprehensive reforms and qualitative achievements witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain under His Majesty King Hamad bin  Isa  Al Khalifa. The meeting also dealt with a number of issues of mutual concern, especially the development of the friendly relations and cooperation, in a way that enhances the interests of both countries and peoples.

In the context of the official working visit, Dr. Abdullah attended a working lunch, hosted by His the Georgian Vice Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs in honour of His Excellency and his accompanying delegation during which ways of broadening bilateral ties were reviewed.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah said the Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the strengthening of relations between the two countries in many areas and hopes to seek greater cooperation with its friendly country, especially since both countries have a lot of common values and noble goals. He added that Bahrain Is the land of promising investment opportunities as it keep abreast of the new technological developments of the world, expressing his pride in the 25 years of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.

The Georgian Vice Premier welcomed the intensification of cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain as an advanced and civilized country in the light of the Kingdom’s development and thanks to the leadership of His Majesty the King, stressing that this visit represents a bridge for translating the common will and strengthening diplomatic ties in order to maximize cooperation on the ground.

It is to note that the first round of political consultations was held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Georgia in the capital Tbilisi during which the two sides discussed mutual support for the candidates of the two countries in international organizations, investment opportunities in tourism and agricultural sectors and increasing the number of flights.
