Top Houthi leader killed in raid
Riyadh : The political leader of Yemen´s Houthi militia, Saleh Ali Al-Sammad, has been killed in an air strike by the Saudi-led coalition, the Houthi militia announced yesterday.
Al Arabiya sources said Sammad was killed in an air raid near the suburb of al-Buraihi, south of al-Hudaydah province.
Sammad headed the Houthi-led Supreme Political Council and was the second on the Arab Coalition’s list of wanted people in Yemen, after Abdel Malek Al-Houthi.
Sources who spoke to Al Arabiya said Sammad was under house arrest in the western coast of al-Hudaydah in recent weeks because of differences within the militias. – Al Arabia The coalition had previously offered $20 million reward for any information that led to his arrest.
