woman who tortured her baby daughters arrested
Riyadh : A woman who mercilessly tortured her two baby daughters in Saudi Arabia and filmed the incident was arrested yesterday.
Labour and Social Development Ministry in Saudi Arabia confirmed that "the protection teams has located the babies in Jeddah and took them away from their mother".
According to Saudi news websites, "the mother was arrested and relevant legal procedures are being undertaken".
It was also reported that the babies, identified as Jood and Juri, were referred to a hospital in Jeddah where they were examined and later handed-over to the father while investigations are continued.
However, no further information were revealed on the mother's nationality or mental condition.
Tribune reported yesterday that a nationwide campaign, led by Labour and Social Development Ministry, was launched in Saudi Arabia to locate the children and save them from their mother.
This came few hours after several videos showed the woman strangling and beating both babies while saying "you should die and go to heaven" in a Saudi accent.
