Billionaire buys £2 mln house as student residence
A secluded Scottish mansion once eyed as a potential home for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is set to become a private student residence.
Eden Mansion, near St Andrews, has reportedly been bought by an Indian billionaire as a home for his daughter, who is due to begin classes at the University of St Andrews next week.
The £2million house, which features a private cinema, roof terrace, and more than five acres of land, is far out of budget for even the most affluent undergraduates.
The eight-bedroom mansion even requires an army of staff for its upkeep. Advertisements seeking a team of 12 staff, including a butler, maid, and three footmen were recently posted by the Silver Swan recruitment agency, the Times reported.
