Shaikha Fatima excels in Indoor Skydiving

Shaikha Fatima bint Ahmed Al Khalifa scored the first place at the Gulf level and the 10th in the world in the third Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) World Cup of Indoor Skydiving, hosted in Bahrain. Shaikha Fatima confirmed that her first place victory reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to develop the youth and sport strategies, expressing her gratitude for the leadership continued support and for the great interest they attach to sport and athletes.

Nayef Al Somaim won the second position and Ebrahim Al Awadhi won the third position in the category. Indoor Skydiving World Cup, that witnessed a tough competition between 300 competitors from 25 countries concluded yesterday evening at Gravity Indoor Skydiving. In the Dynamic 2 Way Open category, the Singaporean team won the first position, French team 1 won the second position and the French team 2 won the third position.

USA team topped the VFS Open category, while the Russian team scored the second position and the Italian team won the third position Air Devils team became the first in the FS Junior, followed by the French team in the second position and the Czech team in the third position. In the FS Female category, the UK team topped other teams and the French team and Swedish team for winning the second and third position respectively. In the FS Open category, the French team topped the other teams and the Belgian team won the second position and the Italian team came third.

USA team became the top winner of the Solo Freestyle Junior followed by the Singaporean team in the second position and the Polish team in the third position. Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the 3rd FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving, Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa expressed his pride and gratitude for Bahrain’s remarkable success in hosting the World Cup.

He highlighted the success of the competition represents the capability of the Kingdom to host world cups and international championships and it is considered as a motivation to continue efforts to attract more competitions to reinforce the leading position of Bahrain in the sports sectors. Shaikh Mohammed distributed the prizes among the winners in all categories.
