Jeremy Kennedy stops Marat Magomedov

It was a night to remember for Jeremy Kennedy as he won his first main event for Brave Combat Federation, in beautiful Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Facing the previously undefeated Marat Magomedov at Brave 21, the Canadian prospect showed improvements in his stand-up to capitalize on small mistakes made by the Russian and, eventually, got the TKO victory. After the fight, “JBC” was quick to tease reigning Featherweight champion Bubba Jenkins, dismissing him as the true champ and saying he felt like the best in the division at Brave Combat Federation.

“Bubba who? I’m the champion. I’ve always felt like this since I signed with Brave. I showed tonight that there are levels to this sport and no one is on my level here. I feel like I’m the champion, they need to prove themselves against me, not the other way around. I should have that belt and I feel like I defended my title tonight”, said Kennedy. The two men put on a great fight, as Magomedov tried to close the distance to shoot in for takedowns early on, while Jeremy was content striking from the outside and doing damage. Marat was able to clinch a few times but had trouble putting the fight on the ground.

It was Kennedy who got the takedown and was able to do damage there too during the second round. In the co-main event of the evening, Rami Hamed had the best possible promotional debut as he flattened Gadzhimusa Gaziev with a right hook, knocking out “Deadshot” inside the first round. It was one of the most vicious KO’s of 2018 for Brave Combat Federation.
