Christina Aguilera says she didn’t punch Pink
Christina Aguilera is opening up about her past with Pink. On Thursday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Aguilera addressed an infamous incident between her and the “What About Us” singer during the early stages of their careers. In 2017, Pink appeared on the Bravo talk show and revealed that there had been some bad blood between them and claimed at one stage Aguilera took a swing at her in a nightclub.
Aguilera, however, remembers the night differently. “I heard about that story and I saw the clip of it,” Aguilera, 38, told Cohen during the “Plead the Fifth” segment. “It’s so funny because I’ve seen her Behind the Music and I know she has some feelings about how the recording of ‘Lady Marmalade’ went down.”
Though Aguilera acknowledged that she was initially “intimidated” by Pink when they collaborated on the track in 2001, she eventually came to learn that the 39-year-old singer has changed since then. “She was heckling me in the audience a little bit behind the director,” she said of Pink. “I was like, ‘Oh, What’s going on?’ But that’s what she did back then.”
