Baby Games end in style
The Second Bahrain Baby Olympics came to a close yesterday in a spectacular fashion at Isa Sports City’s Bahrain Volleyball Association hall in Riffa.
Attended by a capacity crowd of participants and their cheering families in the stands, the closing ceremony saw all the participants collect their commemorative medals from representatives of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), the event organizers.
And after thrilling contests in four sports disciplines – basketball, athletics, football and gymnastics, a dedicated children torch flame was put out to declare the Baby Olympics end. The athletics events included competitions in spring run, hurdles and kids relay and were open for kindergarten children aged between 3 and 5 years, who were guided by coaches Mishael Al Thawadi, Salem Khalifa and Emad Mohammed.
In basketball, young kids explored their free throws skills as the organizing committee prepared nine mini net hoop backboard stands, much to the joy of the participants and their parents.
