Eight dead and one in critical condition as vehicle crashes into crowd

At least eight people were killed and one other seriously injured in a horrific accident on Monday morning in Central Kuwait.

Kuwaiti Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) revealed that a major three car pile-up took place in the district of Kabad where witnesses immediately sprang into action to aid the injured.

Unfortunately, the gathered good Samaritans were unexpectedly hit by a four wheel- drive vehicle that was speeding.

The horrific collision rendered one severely injured and eight dead, among the dead were seven Kuwaiti nationals and one Gulf national from a neighboring country.

Fire and police authorities present on the scene immediately rushed the injured to the hospital and managed to control the situation.

Kuwait’s Interior Ministry’s General Department of Public Relations and Security Media revealed that an investigation has commenced with regard to the cause of the dreadful incident.

Home to 4.5 million people, Traffic crashes are among the world’s highest in Kuwait where the main cause has been accounted to rash driving.

At least 120 road accident-related deaths have been reported since the beginning of 2019 until May 2019.

2018 witnessed a total of 401 deaths while 2017 recorded 424 deaths related to road accidents.
