Video Footage: Iraqi flings bomb at children celebrating Gurgaon as a “joke’’
CCTV footage of a man throwing a smoke grenade at children celebrating Gurgaon in a neighborhood has gone viral on social media platforms.
The incident took place in the Iraqi city of Basra in the Al-Abla area of the Southern Province.
The footage begins with a crowd of children spread across the narrow street going from house to house with their bags to collect sweets and other goodies on the occasion of Gurgaon.
The celebration is cut short as the unsuspected children are startled by a noise and a cloud of smoke that consumes the area.
The children are seen running in panic as the adults present hastily attempt to usher few children to safety.
Police authorities of the Southern Iraqi Province of Basra led an investigation and managed to apprehend the man who justified his actions as a ‘prank’.
Disregarding his irresponsible defense, the man was charged with various charges including attempt to murder and use of banned entities.
