Goa Airport temporarily shut following fire on runway
Goa Airport located in Dabolim temporarily shut down and halted all flight operations after a fighter jet's fuel tank got detached while taking off and caused a fire on the runway on Saturday afternoon.
Used for both civilian as well as military purposes, the Goa Airport was preparing for the departure of a MiG 29K fighter jet when the mishap took place.
Following a two-hour shut down, Airport operations resumed upon controlling the situation.
