Children used as suicide bombers for attack that left 30 dead

A total of three children including two girls and a boy were used a suicide bombers for the attack outside a video hall in Konduga village in north-eastern Borno State, Nigeria.

The bombing, which is believed to have been carried out by the Boko Haram jihadist group, has left 30dead and 40 others injured.

Ali Hassan, leader of a self-defence group in Konduga revealed "There was a heated argument between the operator and the bomber who blew himself up,"

Following the incident UNICEF stated that five children have been used as suicide bombers since the beginning of this year and a total of 48 children in the previous year.

As part of the ongoing armed conflict, thousands of children have been recruited and used by armed groups as combatants and non-combatants.
