NBB named best in Bahrain

The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) was awarded the “Best Bank in Bahrain” at the Euromoney Middle East Awards for Excellence 2019. Now in its 27th year, the awards were presented to winning banks from across the region at a gala dinner at the Grosvenor House in Dubai in the presence of senior industry executives from throughout the GCC and MENA region.

Eleven awards were presented to leading banks in a number of categories across key geographies with this year’s awards demonstrating the growing importance of leading local and regional banks versus international players operating in the markets.

Of the awards presented, seven went to regional banks with only four going to global banks this year - the highest proportion for regional banks in the Awards’ history. According to the criteria, NBB was honored as the “Best Bank in Bahrain” for its transformation, strong performance and results delivered over the past year and its continued market leadership.

The bank was also recognized for its ongoing efforts and investments in innovation. Accepting the award on behalf of the bank was NBB CEO Jean-Christophe Durand, who headed the NBB delegation in Dubai.
