Bahrain-Kuwait relations discussed
On the sidelines of the 63rd International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference in Vienna, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Head of the National Committee on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons as well as their Destruction, Dr Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, and her accompanying delegation met with the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative to the International Organisations in Vienna, Sadiq Marafi.
The meeting noted strong bilateral brotherly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait and reviewed the Kuwaiti experience with the IAEA in building capacities in the fields of health, environment, agriculture, water resources enhancing scientific research and monitoring radioactive leaks.
The meeting also discussed and evaluated a number of important regional agreements within the framework of the IAEA. Kuwait will be a member of the IAEA Board of Governors from September 2019 for two years. Its candidacy has received considerable support from the Middle East and South Asian countries.
