Centre to launch joint projects with UAE govt
Board of Trustees Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, Dr Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, has announced that the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence is planning to launch joint projects with the UAE in the field of peaceful co-existence among religions, in addition to joint conferences and meetings in the coming period.
In an interviewed with the UAE-based “Al Bayan” newspaper, published in today’s issue, Dr Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa described the UAE as an oasis of tolerance, which accommodates everyone, regardless of their religion or belief, and is a place where human beings find peace, security and sufficient space to practise their rituals.
He pointed out that the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence promotes the concepts of peaceful co-existence and acceptance of the other through many activities, most notably conferences, forums and use of technology to protect societies, particularly youth, from the scourges of extremism and hatred.
He said that the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence has achieved a lot in a short period thanks to the kingdom’s good relations with countries and centres all over the world, adding that the Centre’s message to the world is to rally together in fighting extremism and rejecting hatred.
Dr Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa stressed that the King Hamad Global Centre interacts with youth through advanced technology, including smart phones and modern technology media, calling on youth to understand and follow up on what they can do through the Centre so that the entire world could live in peace and hope.
