Six dead, 19 hurt in horrific UAE road accident
The accident was caused by reckless driving.
Six people have been killed and 19 others injured after a passenger bus collided with a truck in Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi Police said the crash occurred on Al Raha Beach Street during dawn on Thursday.
The crash resulted from the errant driver of a vehicle who was driving recklessly in front of a truck. His recklessness confused the truck driver, who was forced to suddenly stop in order to avoid hitting him, said police.
The bus carrying passengers then rammed into the truck.
Lt. Col. Mohammed Abdul Rahim Al Hosani, Head of the Traffic Investigation Department at the Traffic Department for the Outer Areas said the Police operations room was tipped off about the accident at dawn.
Police patrols and ambulances were immediately sent to the scene to rescue the injured persons.
Six people died on the spot while 19 sustained serious to moderate injuries. The injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
