Saudi Arabia decides to suspend the travel of its citizens and residents

Saudi Arabia announced today temporarily suspending the travel of its citizens and residents, and suspending flights to each of the (European Union, Swiss Confederation, the Republic of India, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Social Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka, the Republic of the Philippines, and the Republic of Sudan, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Republic of South Sudan, the State of Eritrea, the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Djibouti, and the Federal Republic of Somalia), as well as suspending the entry of those coming from those countries, or the entry of those who were there during the 14 days prior to the arrival 

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported a statement of the Ministry of Interior in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in which it confirmed that the decision comes in accordance with the preventive and precautionary measures recommended by the competent health authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and within the framework of its determined efforts to control the virus, and to prevent its entry and spread, and Take care to protect the health of citizens and residents and ensure their safety.

The Ministry of Interior also affirmed the suspension of passenger traffic through all land ports with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, while continuing to allow commercial and freight traffic, and the passage of humanitarian and exceptional cases.

The decision gives a 72-hour period for citizens and those with valid residency for citizens of those countries to return to the Kingdom, before the travel suspension decision comes into effect.

The decision to suspend health practitioners working in the Kingdom has excluded citizens of the Philippines and India, evacuation, shipping and trade trips, with the necessary and necessary precautions taken
