The owner of the Australian amusement park Dreamworld has been charged over the deaths of four people who were killed on a water thrill ride in 2016. Dreamworld's parent company Ardent Leisure confirmed three charges against it were filed on Tuesday at Brisbane Magistrates Court in relation to the theme park tragedy.
The Thunder River Rapids at the Gold Coast park had malfunctioned mid-ride, forcing two rafts to collide and flip. Four adults from two families died after being caught underneath, while two children were thrown from the rafts and survived.
