Saudi Arabia summons Czech ambassador
The Saudi Foreign Ministry has summoned the Czech ambassador over the translation of Salman Rushdie's "The Satanic Verses" which is an offensive book to Islam and Muslims.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Friday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry expressed to the ambassador its condemnation and denunciation of the translation and publication of the book.
The statement reiterated Saudi Arabia's stance against the defamation of Islam, voicing the country's hope that the publication of the book will be prevented.
