30 killed, 126 injured in Ankara twin blast

30 people were killed and 126 others injured in two explosions that occurred outside the main train station in Ankara, the Turkish capital Ankara, ahead of a "peace" rally, Turkish media sources announced.

They also reported that it could be a suicide bomber, as eye witnesses said human flesh was all over the scene.

TV footage showed that blasts were at the two sides of the exit of the main train station in the city, where the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) supporters were gathering.

Blasts occurred ahead of a planned "peace" march organised by labour unions and a number of NGOs to protest against the conflict between the state and militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in southeast Turkey.

Organisers have cancelled the rally, calling on participants from other cities to return.

Meanwhile, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu chaired a meeting with security authorities following the twin explosion.

Turkey is now heading for a re-election on Nov 1, as the former election failed to produce a one-party or coalition government.
