Saudi Arabia to resume the Umrah pilgrimage starting tonight

Saudi Arabia decided to allow Umrah pilgrims to perform the ritual from Sunday onwards. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will allow 30 percent of the total capacity to conduct the ritual and it will be over an allocated 6 periods. For each period, the numbers of the pilgrims will not exceed 1000 the ministry said. 3 hours will be allocated for the pilgrims to conduct the ritual.

A Medical leader assigned by the ministry will follow each group.

The presidency of the affairs of the two holy mosques has recruited 1000 employees to follow up on the rituals of Umrah and took all measures to ensure the safety and comfort of the pilgrims and the authorities will sterilize the facilities of the holy mosque around the clock.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had issued 10,041 permits to perform Umrah through the "Umrah" application since its launch early last week. To obtain the permit, the beneficiary must have an active account in the “Tawakolna” application, in order to ensure that preventive and health measures are applied. The applicant must be free from any contact or infection with the Coronavirus.
