Dubai to India airfare drops to BD30

Dubai

Airfare from Dubai to some of the important destinations to India has dropped by half from what have been charged before. A ticket to Mumbai, Bengaluru, or Kochi was charged between Dh1,300 to Dh1,500 (BD133.47 to BD154.01) with travel agencies but a week before it came down to Dh300 to Dh500 (BD30.80 to BD51.34).

“Fares on India-bound routes have reduced due to the higher frequency of flights,” said a spokesperson for Shams Abu Dhabi, the travel agency. India is operating 270 repatriations or Vande Bharat flights from the UAE all through this month.

At the same time, most of the Indian states have made compromises on requirements that passengers need to go through as part of the safety protocol measures. With the exception of Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, no other state now requires a PCR test on arrival.

However, despite the cut in the air ticket fare, demand remains in a downtrend. “Dubai-India routes are pretty slim pickings [now],” said sources.  The downtrend is attributed to India’s inability to control the spread of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Flight tickets from India cost more as UAE's Covid-19 situation improves.
