US election : Biden maintains electoral lead; Trump closely following

In a closely contested US presidential election, Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden leads bagging 238 electoral votes, while US president and Republican candidate Donald Trump is behind with 213 electoral votes.
Earlier in the day, achieving a prominent lead, Joe Biden has expressed his optimistic view of winning the election to the media, to which Donald trump reciprocated Biden is trying to steal the election and he will approach the Supreme Court on this. He has also alleged Biden of election fraud in an address from the White House.
“We were going to win this election. Frankly, we did win… Our goal is to ensure the integrity for the good of the country. We want the law to be used in a proper manner. So, we will be going to US Supreme Court,” Trump said.
Both Trump and Biden have made expected gains in smaller states, and all eyes are on the key battleground states. Trump is predicted to win Florida, Texas, Iowa and Ohio. Biden, on the other hand, is likely to win Arizona. A neck-and-neck fight is underway in North Carolina and Georgia. Results are yet to be declared in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. At 12 pm IST, Biden had 224 electoral votes against Trump’s 213, according to The Associated Press (AP). A candidate needs 270 electoral votes to win the presidency.
So far, Trump is projected to win Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, West Virginia, Wyoming, Indiana, South Carolina and Utah. Biden, meanwhile, has taken Democratic-leaning states like California, Colorado, Columbia, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and Washington.
