Indian teen girl falls to death in Sharjah

An Indian schoolgirl died after she fell off a residential building in Sharjah on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as 16-year-old Rose Mary, daughter of Simon Sebastian, a native of Mathilakam, Kodungalloor in Thrissur, Kerala.

She was a Class 11 student at Sharjah Indian School. She fell from the balcony of their flat on the seventh floor of the building at Abu Shagara around 11.30 am on Tuesday, reported Khaleej Times. Her mother Reetha Mary was in the flat at the time of the incident.

School authorities said Rose had not been attending schools for last three days. Her brother is also a student of the same school.

She was rushed to the Al Qasimi Hospital where she was confirmed dead, and then shifted to the forensic laboratory for investigation.

The police received a call about the incident and immediately rushed to the area, where they found the girl motionless in a pool of blood.

The police are questioning her parents and have launched an investigation.

According to the police, the girl's family said the girl was in good health and hadn't complained of any problems. No abnormal behaviour was noticed.

The mortal remains will be taken to India after legal procedures.
