Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud hailed the approval of the establishment of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts by the Council of Ministers, signifying a major step forward in the development of the Kingdom’s cultural sector.

The Institute will provide advanced educational programs in the arts, training a new generation of highly skilled craftspeople and raising awareness of the country’s unique traditional art forms.

Its goal is to preserve these vital components of Saudi culture, cultivating, reimagining and preserving them for future generations.

The Institute will help develop an advanced cultural ecosystem and enable talented Saudis to pursue successful careers in a thriving and competitive private sector, while driving demand for their products at home and abroad.

Its remit also includes the promotion of cultural exchange, with creative partnerships with leading international institutions expected to be announced in the coming months.

The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts is an initiative by the Vision 2030 Quality of Life program and supports the Ministry of Culture’s efforts to develop the cultural sector and enhance creative knowledge and education.
