Jackie Chan dead?
Internet can be deadly for celebrities. The latest victim is the renowned actor Jackie Chan, who has been reported dead by a few internet sites.
Social media, as usual, took up this false news and gave publicity. The report claimed that the actor died of heart attack on 18th May 2015 morning in a Hong Kong hospital.
The website, CNM informative, claimed, "The sad news of Chans’s death was given by his wife Lin Feng-jiao in a news conference, couple of hours ago, where she said to the media, 'I hope you can understand my loss, and I would appreciate if you can give us some space for our mourning.'"
The website went on to claim that funeral arrangements have not yet been made but the great actor’s body will be buried next to his parents, “who taught him the meaning of love for the family.”
It is very touching to see the concern of this website regarding the health of the actor and the grief of his family members. But it was just a cooked story which helped the website to gain 3000 plus ‘likes’ in a matter of hours. Not a small achievement for a website, about which you would have never heard about.
