Bahrain commends IMF help in sustaining economic growth

Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa has discussed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Bahrain’s initiatives to achieve sustainable growth and launch of an economic recovery plan after the coronavirus pandemic.
This came as Shaikh Salman met IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group (WBG).
The minister noted that the Bahraini initiatives were praised by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a model to be followed regionally and internationally.
He affirmed the prominent role of the IMF to reduce the economic and social effects of the pandemic and stimulate economic sectors.
Shaikh Salman referred to the ongoing efforts toward achieving the objectives of the Fiscal Balance Program by 2024 to enhance the financial and economic stability in the Kingdom.
Likewise, he highlighted Bahrain’s leading role in digital transformation by supporting advanced digital systems in various fields.
