Global COVID-19 caseload crosses 555.4 million

The overall number of people who contracted the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) topped 555, 454, 658 worldwide.

According to updated statistics released today by the US-based John Hopkins University. 6,351,181 people have died due to the pandemic.

The United States recorded the largest number of infections around the world, exceeding 88.5 million cases, followed by India and Brazil, which exceeded 43.6 million and 32.8 million respectively.

The United States topped the list of countries in terms of the number of deaths due to infection with the virus with more than one million deaths. It is followed by Brazil with 673, 610 deaths, and then India with a total of 525, 454 deaths.
