WHO Director-General honours Bahrain Health Minister

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the WHO Director- General, yesterday honoured Dr Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan, Bahrain’s Health Minister, for efforts in vaccination.
The honour, Health Ministry said, constitutes a qualitative addition for Bahrain, whose membership exceeded two consecutive terms in the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunisation (SAGE) of the World Health Organisation.
The Minister of Health’s membership is the longest term of an expert in the WHO’s Global Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunisation. The WHO Director-General honoured a number of the committee members yesterday.
Recently, the World Health Organisation launched a case study documenting Bahrain’s strategic response to the COVID-19 pandemic, showcasing how the country managed to overcome critical challenges through preparedness and early response.
