At least eight people were killed after a van collided with a tractor-trailer at an intersection in Vietnam on Tuesday, a government official said.
"Six people were killed on the spot, two died in the hospital and twelve others were injured, including three in a critical condition," vice chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee Khuat Viet Hung told dpa.
The two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when they collided at an intersection in central Quang Nam Province, he said.
Most of the 20 passengers in the van were on the way to a hospital for health examinations. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
