Museum specialists in Egypt have mummified a shark that killed a Russian tourist swimming at a popular resort beach.
The tiger shark was caught by fishermen shortly after the attack. Body parts belonging to the victim, Vladimir Popov, were found in the shark’s stomach.
The attack occurred last week near the Elysees Dream Beach Hotel in Hurghada, a popular tourist destination on Egypt’s Red Sea coast.
Popov, 23, was swimming in the ocean when he was attacked.
The shark was caught by a number of fishermen in Hurghada shortly after the incident.
The shark’s body was then mummified by specialists at the Institute of Marine Sciences and the Red Sea Reserves and will be put on display in the institute’s museum.
